Haaaaaaave you met ted? – How I Met Your Mother Series review
Ask one of your parents how they met your other parent and they will tell you a touching story, probably how they dropped their books and the other picked them up or how they almost ran over the other with a tank because they are veterans. If you were Ted Mosby, you’d stretch what would be a touching, 15-minute story into something that has nothing to do with your wife and instead your hot friend named Robin and your off-and-on relationship with her over the course of 9 YEARS.
How I met your mother is an early 2000s TV show that, chances are, your parents or older siblings or even you watched growing up. The entire series is a set of flashbacks that Ted Mosby (the main character) recants to his children on “How I met your mother?” Truthfully, I love this series. I haven’t watched it in a while so I figured that today I would tell you all about this bingeable series. So men, women and those of unspesicified genders, this is, ‘How I Met Your Mother?’
Summary according to IMDB:
Ted Mosby sits down with his kids, to tell them the story of how he met their mother. The story is told through memories of his friends Marshall, Lily, Robin, and Barney Stinson. All legendary 9 seasons lead up to the moment of Ted’s final encounter with “the one.”
My thoughts
How I met your mother is essentially the epitome of the concept of a sitcom, it really is that “type” of show. Lots of adult jokes, immature jokes, the only 3 areas they are at every episode, and even some highly implausible events in the occasional ‘we gave up halfway through’ episode.
One thing I would like to address before that though, is actually the level of drama and interesting things happening per episode. A lot sitcoms are episodic, meaning that nothing carries over into the next episode and occasionally there’s an episode that contributes something to the overarching story. ‘How I met your mother’ is slightly different because while alot of stuff is played off for gags, alot of episodes have events that contribute to the overarching story. It actually feels like you are watching someone’s life play out before your eyes.
Conclusion
In conclusion, how I met your mother is a great show, I wish I could have written a more extensive piece, but that would require spoiling the entire show and with thanksgiving coming up, hopefully reading this article will move you into binging the series over break.
This series is truly an experience. Watching Ted’s relationship’s unfold and barney’s exploits and whatever marshall and lilly are doing being all happy and junk, is truly just a fun time. I highly recommend this series and I hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving
