Fire Up Monday (No. 7)

Monday, December 17th

The Eagles traveled down to Lima, Ohio for the Kewpee Holiday Classic, a four-team tournament—St. Eds, Lima Senior, Dayton Dunbar, and Toledo Rogers—that was played over the weekend.

To start off the tournament, the Eagles took on Toledo Rogers at 6 PM on Friday, where the Eagle defense was too much for Rogers to handle. With solid all-around offensive contribution led to an 86-57 victory for the Eagles.

The following night at 8 PM, the Eagles took second place in a rather disappointing loss to Lima Senior in the championship game, which was a 77-74 loss. In our first true road game, the Eagles came away with a good learning experience—missing 17 foul shots and only hitting one three will almost always result in a loss, especially against a talented team like Lima Senior. However, the fact that the Eagles were able to keep it close all came is a good sign. Two questionable calls against the Eagles proved to be critical, especially the backcourt violation called with the Eagles were down two with 30 seconds left. The Eagles cannot let this unexpected loss through them off course; the Eagles have another big challenge against Brush at their place tomorrow night at 7 PM. Tomorrow night’s game will be another tough road game that is a great opportunity for the Eagles to improve before they head to Myrtle Beach for the Beach Ball Classic after Christmas.

Wrestling lost a close one to La Salle, the No. 4 team in the nation. This match was a respectable loss for the Eagles that will allow them to improve their weak spots. The Eagles head to St. Ignatius on Thursday at 7:30 PM. Be there!

The Hockey Eagles won the 2018 Padua Christmas Tournament over the weekend! A great way to lead into Hockey Holy War on Thursday at 7 PM. Be there! You have two great choices for Holy Wars on Thursday!

GO EAGLES!
