NFL NEWS: AFC North Predictions by Jared Ashdown ’18
September 11, 2016
Happy football season everyone! The NFL starts today and in honor of that I give you over the course of the next few days, my NFL predictions by division. Today I give you my predictions for the AFC North. Here we go!
4. Cleveland Browns (3-13) A rebuilding season. I believe 100% in the new regime and I love the draft picks that they made, especially Carl Nassib and Emmanuel Ogbah. It’ll be a long and rough season for the Browns but RG3 to Josh, Terrelle, and Corey will be exciting.
3. Baltimore Ravens (8-8) Not back yet. A rough season for the Ravens last year will continue but there will be improvement. Joe Flacco is a good quarterback but still not elite level. The defense is formidable as well as the offense but in a tight division with a tough schedule, the Ravens will not be better or worse than 8-8.
2. Cincinnati Bengals (10-6) Prime time problems. The Bengals have Super Bowl talent but their head coach and quarterback are void of leadership which causes this team to consistently lose big games. Expect another playoff appearance and wild card exit.
1. Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4) Not buttoned up. The Steelers and their lethal offense and average defense will win this division because they have the best quarterback in the division and the best coach too. They will have a 1st round bye week and make a run to the super bowl. The only knock on the Steelers is that the franchise isn’t totally buttoned up. Martavis Bryant is out for the year because of his struggles with marijuana and neither can the best running back in football Le’veon Bell (he is only suspended for the first four games). Because of all these things, despite a tough schedule the Steelers will win the division and the Bengals will make the playoffs and get yet another participation ribbon as they get knocked off once again in the wild-card.
