With many Christmas movie seasons come many Christmas movie sequels that fail to go beyond or even match the quality of the original.  One specific one that doesn’t fail to disappoint is Home Alone 2.
One year after the events of Home Alone, in which Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) fends off two bumbling burglars after being left home on accident for the holiday season, the family takes a trip to the Big Apple, where Kevin gets separated from his family yet again and, once again, is forced to deal with the burglars who have escaped from jail and looking to cause more trouble.
The reason this falls at number 19 on our list is due to it being terrible as a sequel.  Whose idea was it to take the same general plot in the first movie and mimic it in a sequel set in New York City?  The most obvious character taken from the first movie and dropped in the second was the old man wandering around the neighborhood (If you don’t know what I am referring to I suggest you watch the first one).  The viewer sees the exact same plot line fall into place with the old bird lady sitting in Central Park.  However, if this movie were to stand alone, it is a decent holiday flick about a boy and who stands up to his fears of being alone and does a good job of instilling a Christmas spirit into the heart of viewers.
While I would not go out of my way to watch this movie again and prefer the original Home Alone, it still beats Home Alone 3 and 4.
