Lakewood, OH- It was a beautiful day for football on Saturday as St. Edward fans came out to support their Varsity Eagles against the Woodson Warriors (Washington D.C.). Many students were looking to see their fellow Edsmen improve to 3-0. And what better way to welcome the team from our Nation’s Capital than an U.S.A themed student section? American flags, patriotic morph suits, and our nation’s colors were just a few things brought to cheer on the Eagles. After a shaky first drive by the Eagle offense, two quick scores by brothers Andrew and David Dowell made it 14-0 Eagles. Quarterback’s Brett Kean and Brandon DiMarco both had fantastic games. Kean ran for 2 touchdowns and Dimarco threw a 24 yard TD pass to DJ Thomas for a quick score before the end of the first half. The Eagles defense played amazing as they limited the Warriors to a total of 31 offensive yards on the day. The Eagles won 49-0 and improved to 3-0 on the season. They will have a very tough matchup this week as they face Cincinnati Elder, who is also coming into the game undefeated. Although this is a home game, the location is at John Carroll University. The game will start at 6 p.m. and t he football team hopes to see you there!
