Lakewood, OH- It was a beautiful night for football at First Federal of Lakewood Stadium. The “Madhouse on Madison” didn’t disappoint as students hoped to “White-out the Griffins.” With much to improve on from Week 1 against Glenville, the St. Edward Eagles football team was fired up and ready to go. The Eagles definitely improved, and then some. The Eagles running game came soaring out of the gate with two quick touchdowns by team captain’s Andrew Dowell and Brad Shaver. The passing game wasn’t all that bad either. Quarterback’s Brett Kean and Brandon DiMarco combined for 6 touchdown passes on the night. The defense made their presence known, keeping the Griffin’s off the board until the final three minutes of the game. The hard work of this week’s practices definitely paid off as the varsity Eagles defeated the Griffins with a final score of 63-8. Head Coach Rick Finotti and his team look to improve to 3-0 on the season as they take on Woodson (Washington D.C.) next Saturday at 2:00 PM at Lakewood Stadium.
