Fire Up Monday (No. 4)

Monday, November 26th

WE ARE GOING TO THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! With a 42-16 victory over Olentangy Liberty, the Eagles advance to the state finals, where they will meet undefeated Cincinnati Colerain, the top-ranked team in the state.

Right from the beginning of the game, the Eagles defense started off with an interception by Lawson Nash, which set up great field position for Jordan Castleberry to run in a touchdown to take the early lead; this set the tempo for the rest of the game. The Eagles defense had four takeaways, all by junior Lawson Nash. The great defense allowed plenty of opportunities for the offense to score, and that is exactly what the Eagles did. Four different Eagles scored on offense: Dzuro, Castleberry (2), Kent, and Formani.

The Eagles now have a lot of momentum as they take their four-game winning streak into the championship game. Coach Lombardo and the Eagles were fired up after the game (see video here).

Seeking a fourth Division 1 State Championship, the Eagles are excited to play at the Hall of Fame Stadium this Friday at 8 P.M. We need to pack the stadium! Hopefully, many fans can make the trip down to Canton to cheer on the Eagles.

It will be a busy weekend for Eagle sports fans. The Eagles also are opening up their wrestling and basketball seasons on Saturday. Wrestling begins their season as the No. 5 ranked team in the NATION and they will be facing off at 10 A.M. in the Eagle’s Nest against Parkersburg South, Westerville North, and Perry Township. Basketball will open up against Lakewood at 7:30 P.M. in the Eagle’s Nest.

There is a lot of excitement within the St. Edward Community! Make sure you come and support your Eagles this weekend!

GO EAGLES!
