After making the playoffs and finally winning their first playoff game in 2013-14, the Columbus Blue Jackets came into the 2014-15 season with their highest expectations the franchise has ever seen. Despite 42 wins, the franchise missed the playoffs largely due to the fact that they led the league with 502 man games lost. When the Blue jackets got key players in their lineup back that were unavailable for most of the season due to injury back for the last 13 games of the season, the Blue Jackets went 12-0-1. This leaves many people to wonder, if this team can stay even 65% healthy, can they make the playoffs or even finally get that franchise’s first playoff series victory? I’m here to tell you yes. With additions of 2 Stanley Cup champions in 22-year-old talent Brandon Saad and veteran grinder Gregory Campbell, the team added not only more talent and an addition to goal scoring ability and penalty kill depth, they added much needed experience to a young group. The defense when healthy is very talented both offensively and defensively, while the offense has top NHL talents and youth in Brandon Saad, Ryan Johansen, Nick Foligno, and Scott Hartnell. To top that off, the Blue Jackets also have an incredibly talented, hard-working, and consistent goaltender in Sergei Bobrovsky, who sparked this franchise since the moment he arrived in 2013 winning the Vezina trophy. The Columbus Blue Jackets are extremely talented, and if they can remain healthy, they will be a huge threat in the Metropolitan Division and even the entire Eastern Conference.
