Eagles End Winless Streak in Win Over Bears

The Eagles took the pitch on a cool night Thursday in North Royalton looking to end a streak of 4 consecutive games without a win.  They needed to come out quickly in order to get back on track.
Get back on track they did.  SEHS came out running the field immediately.  They had a few chances in the opening moments, but each run was thwarted.  The Eagles finally broke through in the 10th minute when Collin Richards ’15 provided a powerful strike to the ball off the left wing, and put it in the top near corner, giving the Eagles a one goal advantage.
The Bears made a few runs down the field, but the Eagles contained them from the start of the game.  The score remained at 1-0 for the next 20 minutes until the Eagles struck again.  With 10 minutes left in the 1st half, Ryan Bradfield ’15 crushed a ball past the goalie to give SEHS a two goal advantage into halftime.
It was more of the same dominance for the Eagles in the 2nd half.  Though they did not score, they had a plethora of chances to capitalize.  The Bears on the other hand, were stifled thanks to great midfield and defense play from the Eagles.  The final whistle blew, and St. Edward walked off the field with a win.  Postgame, the victorious Eagles looked happy as they were finally able to return to the winning ways.
The Eagles are heading down the home stretch of game in the regular season, including a home game this Wednesday against Euclid at 8:00 P.M.  Come out and support the soccer team as they begin to prepare for the playoffs.
